Restaurant ownership has long been a dream for Hearth and Hill co-owner Brooks Kercheimer, and Park City helped make it a reality. A California native, Brooks earned a degree in Restaurant and Hotel Management from the University of Denver before launching his career at Montage Hotels in Beverly Hills and Deer Valley. He later revitalized Main Street’s landmark Zoom restaurant before moving to Maui, where he served as Assistant General Manager at renowned restaurateur Peter Merriman’s oceanside restaurant. Brooks, his wife Catherine, their children, and their dog now call Park City home.

Lucy became General Manager of Hill’s Kitchen Sugar House in early 2025, after advancing through leadership roles at Hill Top Hospitality’s other restaurants, Hearth and Hill and Urban Hill. Born and raised in Salt Lake City, she discovered her passion for hospitality early on and has built her career around creating memorable guest experiences through food and service. Outside of work, Lucy enjoys spending time outdoors, whether hiking, exploring local trails, or relaxing with a good book.

Born in Provo and raised in Vernal, Utah, Vanessa Sumsion discovered her passion for cooking early on, competing in ProStart culinary competitions and appearing on season 13 of Teen Chef Pro. After earning her associate degree from UVU’s culinary program, she gained experience at Vernal Brewing Company, Yellowstone’s Lake Hotel, the Sonnenalp in Vail, and Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Montana. In 2025, she took on the role of Chef de Cuisine at the opening of Hill’s Kitchen Sugar House, where she leads with her skills and creativity. Outside of the kitchen, Vanessa enjoys hiking, paddleboarding, and spending time with her two dogs.

Sarah discovered her passion for pastry early on, beginning in high school and later refining her skills in culinary school before graduating in 2018. Since then, she has dedicated her career to pastry, specializing in turning simple ingredients into memorable creations. At Hill’s Kitchen, Sarah has grown as both a pastry chef and manager, fostering a collaborative environment built on creativity, mentorship, and community connection. In 2025, she helped open Hill’s Kitchen Sugar House, where she is excited to share her craft with a new neighborhood and continue celebrating the growing presence of women in culinary leadership.
